2019 Management Committee - Expressions of Interest
Dear WARC Members,
As you are aware your club is a special place we can all enjoy and be proud of. We are coming to the conclusion of another very busy and successful pennant season with many operational and on water achievements.
The club relies very heavily on the voluntary contribution from a dedicated group of individuals who take the responsibility for many things that happen every day to keep the club operating as efficiently as possible. Each year we look to fill management committee positions so we can continue to successfully plan growth, strategic direction and most importantly relieve the hard working members who have made exceptional commitment throughout their term on the committee.
I would be very grateful if you would consider joining the team on the 2019 Management Committee to lead the club for the year ahead. We need your help to deliver on the direction and vision outlined in our 2015 – 2019 Strategic Plan.
Background information
• Preferred term for a committee position is two - three years.
• Meetings held monthly from 6.00pm – 7.30pm
• We are seeking nominations from the membership, including parents of our junior members for the following leadership positions on the 2019 management committee.
Functions and Events
This position will suit someone that is highly organised, a great leader and people person with experience organising social or group events.
Typical Oversight Responsibility – Annual Awards Night, Quiz Night, Regatta Hosting, Club Sundowners, States After Party.
Property Maintenance
This position will suit someone with experience in construction, engineering, trade background.
Typical Oversight Responsibility – Planning scheduled maintenance, seeking quotations for works, budgeting for future works.
Marketing, Publicity and Social Media
This position will suit someone with a background in marketing, public relations, customer service, journalism, website development, social media and web posts.
Typical Oversight Responsibility – Communicating to the membership past and present, website maintenance and updating, club promotions.
Membership and Database
This position will suit someone with good computer skills, database management, bookkeeping, Accounting, Administration skills.
Typical Oversight Responsibility – Managing membership enrollments, invoicing and receivables collection, invoicing rowing related member charges and receivables collection, maintain membership database.
Sponsorship and Grants
This position will suit someone with experience in contracts administration, report writing, human resources, business administration.
Typical Oversight Responsibility – Seeking and managing sponsorship opportunities, seeking and submitting grant applications, coordinating special fundraising events.
Positions listed above are for a leadership role without the expectation for the individual to do the work alone. The member tasked with a committee management position has the liberty of forming a working group to assist them with assigned projects. The management committee member will report progress to the full monthly committee meeting.
